Well, after a lot of experimentation, some googling, some help from a friend, I finally 'tuned' my rocksmith settings file to be able to use my USB audio interface, and I can play on the TV instead of playing on the computer screen. I was also very happy to find out that you can control the game with an xbox 360 controller, so I don't have to get the keyboard all the way to the couch All in all, it makes for a very enjoyable game experience.
