Fiasco was born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco on February 16, 1982 in, Illinois. Fiasco is of descent, one of nine children of Shirley, a, and Gregory, an engineer. His father, a member of the, was a prolific African drummer, teacher, operating plant engineer, and owner of karate schools and army surplus stores. Rapper Lupe Fiasco stated that he has canceled his album and is quitting music altogether after receiving various accusations of anti-Semitism. Earlier this week, the rapper released a new freestyle track to SoundCloud titled “N.E.R.D” that featured instrumentals from a new track by J.Cole known as, “Everybody Dies”. On the track, Lupe Fiasco could be heard saying, “Artists getting robbed for their publishing by dirty Jewish execs”, which resulted in a widespread response from his fans via Twitter. The song was negatively criticized by his fans on Twitter claiming the lyrics were completely anti-Semitic.
