I should note, however, that I've had problems with my USB on this computer in the past. I had an issue where flash drives would disconnect after about 10 or 15 seconds of file transfers. I believe that certain drives I never solved it for, while other flash drives work fine as long as I'm using the usb 3.0 ports.

I bought the Asus usb-AC51 for my sisters hackintosh and can't get it to work. When i set up the mac i selected ethernet since the desk i was at had ethernet routed to it but since we are going to move it to my sisters desk downstairs with no ethernet, we needed to get a wifi card, we went to microcenter and one wifi card had mac support on the back so we bought it. I downloaded the drivers off of their website because it said i needed them on the box and plug it in, I check my network in system preferences and there is ethernet, bluetooth PAN, and Windscribe VPN (The VPN I use) but no wifi, I went into the section to add a new option but there is no wifi setting in the dropdown. I saw a post that said pressing the option button on startup to get into recovery mode then to disable then re-enable wifi from the top right but I have a windows keyboard. I booted into Recovery HD from clover boot menu and there was no wifi setting in the top right or anywhere so i have no idea what to do. I'm on OSX high sierra 10.13.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

In short, my wireless adapter is not working on my desktop, on a wifi network that not a single other device has had any problems with. Additionally, this specific adapter was tested on another computer and worked perfectly.

When I try to make it results in a error. Maybe me kernel is ahead of the script.

In device manager double click network adapters, go up to view and select show hidden devices, right click on any wireless adapters including the current adapter and select uninstall and make sure to check the box that says uninstall device drivers as well. New to Linux, Only used it for a few months. I have Linux Mint 18.2 Sonya installed. I just bought a new USB dongle from ASUS. Dual-Band Wireless-AC600 Wi-Fi adapter.

Okay I'll work on that. Also, I noticed something interesting while messing with drivers. Whenever I have the adapter plugged in and I check out its drivers in the device manager, it's always the same two drivers; a realtek one and a Microsoft one. I can't ever get it to display the drivers from the manufacturer. Is this normal? I also have an issue, if the adapter is plugged in, the driver installs just hang and never complete. Same goes for uninstalling.

I am at my wit's end. I have a Dell Vostro 1700 laptop, maybe six or seven years old. It has an internal Broadcom 4321 wireless adapter, that I got running using the legacy B43 installer. Download speeds with this adapter stink. Ookla Speedtest gives me less than 1Mbs down, but nearly 6Mbs up (that just ain't right). The Broadcom yielded approximately the same values when I had Win 10 running (poorly) on this machine.
